YWCA of Northwest Georgia

Domestic violence affects 1 in 4 women and sexual assault affects 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men in their lifetimes. The vision of the YWCA of Northwest Georgia, established in 1917, is to create a community free of domestic violence and sexual assault. Serving primarily Cherokee, Cobb and Paulding counties, the organization provides programs and services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The center built the first domestic violence shelter in the State of Georgia and provides the only safe haven from domestic violence for women and children in Cobb County. It is the only social service provider to partner with law enforcement, the DA’s office, and WellStar Health System to provide services to victims of sexual assault over the age of 13 in Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding counties.  ywca.org
