Warrior2Citizen’s first annual Veterans Day Celebration and Festival
Peachtree Point Amphitheater at Lake Lanier Islands Resort provided the perfect backdrop for Warrior2Citizen’s first annual Veterans Day Celebration and Festival, presented by Jim Ellis Mall of Georgia Buick GMC, Automation Direct and Points North magazine. More than 100 veterans and their families attended the event, which included a worship service led by Chaplain (Colonel) Thomas A. MacGregor, a keynote speech by National Guard Adjutant General/Major General Jim Butterworth, stirring addresses by Sen. Jack Murphy, and Warrior2Citizen’s Mike Roberts, and Joe and Carol LaBranche.
Ronnie Pittman and Dakota Rose entertained the crowd during the six-hour event, and Lake Lanier Island’s Chef Aidan provided a Santa Maria, Calif. Style barbecue complete with spicy TriTip and chicken. AllGood Wine & Spirits provided wines from the Central Coast of California, home of Santa Maria, and Founding Fathers Brewing Co., which donates 50 percent of its profits to veterans’ organizations donated Founding Fathers Light Beer.
Random drawings for great prizes were drawn during the festivities, and included a half-day fishing trip from Ron Mullins’ The Striper Experience, and a romantic photo shoot and an evening stay in Clayton, Ga., compliments of Steffi Smith of Cariad Photography and Chevin Woodruff of Splendor Mountain, and $25 gift cards donated by Taco Mac and Anne Swiggum of Cumming, Ga.
