Vinny’s on Windward

Vinnys TortolloniOct. 6 | Before Windward Parkway was the bustling hub for business it is today, before there were the PURE Taqueria chains and the Sedgwick Restaurant Group gained the reputation they now hold, Vinny’s on Windward was born. Seventeen years later, Vinny’s easy-going chic concept continues to offer patrons an escape from the ordinary. With a name that nods to the famous painter, here you’ll enjoy a dining experience as artful as Van Gogh’s Sunflowers.

The Dishes | Zuppa di Pesce (white fish & clam chowder, cream, potatoes, corn, bacon, thyme); Burrata with farmer’s market heirloom tomatoes, fresh Italian cream mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar; Polpette di Granchio (jumbo lump crab cake, local apple, fennel slaw, vanilla-cracked mustard butter, chive oil); Creamy potato gnocchi made in-house with veal meatballs and Vinny’s tomato sauce and finally, Bistro VG’s to-die-for “killer” tiramisu.

The Drinks | At our server’s recommendation, we opted for a libation from the lengthy martini list – in particular the pomegrante with citrus vodka, Pama Pomegranate liquer and POM juice. Wine lovers won’t go thirsty, either, with plenty of fine Italian imports. Plus, we love colorful touch of the cobalt blue water goblets.

The Deal | Vinny’s is a staple on the Northside foodie scene – and for good reason. Both night and day, the courtyard-styled interior, complete with exposed wood tables, brick walls and large windows, fills with lively chatter and creates a great a beautiful backdrop. However, the ambience of the multi-level lighting and attention from servers makes your table feel center stage – great for entertaining clients during corporate dinners.
