The Dukes Foundation

Mentored by The Dukes Foundation, a group of young men is helping to make a positive impact in their communities.  On April 24, the mentees hosted a dinner to honor young cancer patients, their families and the hospital staff at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Egleston Hospital.  In addition, mentees have fundraised for the American Cancer Society several times.  They also recently attended Buckhead’s Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where they joined a Sunday School class and shared their experiences with other youth and church members.

The Dukes Foundation, which stands for Developing Urban Kids with Etiquette and Self-Esteem, is a youth mentoring organization in metro Atlanta.  Its mentoring program includes academic coaching, career development workshops, wellness sessions, cultural exposure tours and motivational exercises.  The goal is to use mentoring as a tool to elevate social conditions and reduce the level of violence committed by teens.  404-419-6452,
