Ray’s on the Creek: New & Improved
Written by Olja LakicThe warm breeze drifting through the air and the long, sunny days may leave you craving white-sand beaches and the soft murmur of the waves, or the many restaurants that give the beachfront so much of its appeal. Luckily you don’t have to drive to the coast to get a taste of this summer bliss. Conveniently located in Atlanta’s northern suburb, the recently renovated Ray’s on the Creek offers mouth-watering seafood and steak, and is sure to satisfy a few of your cravings.
Surrounded by a vast parking space, the recently renovated restaurant beckons for great conversation with friends or intimate experiences with loved ones, with a new outdoor patio overlooking Foe’s Killer Creek and an abundance of beautiful trees, and a brighter interior that gives the restaurant a coastal feel. If a casual gathering is more to your liking, the newly-renovated lounge offers a bar with live music playing every Friday and Saturday. For an intimate event, the Cellar Room boasts a warm and cozy ambiance with its rich wood and glow of the fireplace.
Prepared by a professional crew, including former “Top Chef” contestant Tracey Bloom, who serves as the restaurant’s executive chef, the variety of the food on Ray’s menu gives everyone something to desire, from the sliced roasted tenderloin with chimichurri to the perfectly pan-seared sea scallops with herbed risotto. If you are looking for an appetizer to share, the Ahi tacos, crispy taco shells filled with fresh tuna, julienne onions, radish, cucumbers and spicy avocado aioli, are a perfect selection that will leave you craving more. And if more is what you desire at the end of your meal, you certainly can’t go wrong with the award-winning panna cotta or carrot cake. To top it all off, rest assured that many of their menu items are influenced by Bloom’s healthy, gluten-free diet, and all items are 100 percent trans fat-free.
Undoubtedly, Ray’s on the Creek gives you every reason to drive down Mansell Road for an epicurean experience that will keep you coming back. As owner Ray himself put it, “We just want to serve great food and give a great experience to our customers every day.” It may not be a restaurant with a beachfront view, but it sure does come close.
