Purify Your Present-Wrapping Mentality
Pure Aesthetics & Skincare offer Points North Atlanta readers something to shop for
Written by Jennifer Colosimo
It’s no secret that pampering is the key to happiness. But now that November’s shopping season is officially here (and has been since September, if you’ve been to the department store), it’s also the key to sanity, serenity and, in some cases, your health. In fact, as a seven months pregnant lady with the effects of hormones all over my face, I would say it’s pretty much the key to my everything. So, when a dream team of face-fixers opened their doors and invited me in for a treatment, literally nothing could have made me happier to embrace the holidays.
That team is the ladies at Pure Aesthetics & Skincare, a new spot in Dunwoody as of this spring led by beauty-world experts Amy Anderson and Cherece Law-Taylor. Their united goal to rejuvenate complexions with a range of skin treatments with vitamin-rich Environ products makes the experience something holistic, natural and worry-free. During my facial, Anderson talked with me for a good ten minutes prior to getting me under the light. We discussed my daily beauty regimen (OTC or high-dollar products?), where my areas of concern were (am I scrubbing too hard? Where did these brown spots come from?) and specifically, what would be ok to use while pregnant (a big time stress reliever) during my facial, and once I was back home. Her compassionate, patient demeanor made this much more than your average in-and-out spa treatment.
Once I was comfy on the padded table, Anderson went even farther in her prep process, investigating pores, bumps, freckles and blemishes before she laid a finger on my face. And once she did, all that ensued was pure pleasure. My favorite part was the deep cleaning mask that she molded over my entire face, save my nostrils. It’s cooling sensation, and how smooth my face felt afterwards, was something I could be content with waiting out these last few months. And with such a friendly, knowledgeable staff, it’ll be something that goes on my calendar regularly, for sure.
Every facial treatment at Pure Aesthetics includes your esthetician targeting signs of aging, skin discoloration as well specific concerns like acne and scarring, just as Anderson did. They resurface skin and promote deep exfoliation with peels, plus they carry Environ, a corrective vitamin-based skincare line created by a prominent plastic surgeon. Environ products are mostly non-fragranced and color free and boast vitamins A, C and E and other essential antioxidants to guide skin on its journey to perfection.
Pure Aesthetics offers a various assortment of facials, waxing services, brow and lash tinting and Celluma LED light therapy. But what they don’t always offer – and only for a limited time to pointsnorthatlanta.com readers, is an Oxygen Facial for only $75. At half of the regular price, it’s the perfect way to get your shopping senses back and tackle the holiday to-do list before the cookies and milk get cold.
