Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton delivers it’s First Baby!
The new maternity and labor ward at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton welcomed its first arrival Monday, Sept. 12, with the successful delivery of young baby Lucas Herndon. With the assistance of Dr. Clayton Cox, an attending obstetrician, parents Sara and Kyle Herndon delivered their child by caesarian section without complication at 10:03 a.m.
The NGMC Braselton is still a very recent addition to the community, having opened its doors in 2015 and its labor and delivery unit’s opening dates now shares Lucas’ birthday. Fortunately, it seems to be worth the wait as the new mother had positive things to say about the experience. “Everyone at NGMC Braselton has been wonderful during the delivery and recovery,” Sara said. “We love Dr. Cox, all of the staff have been so great and the facility is amazing.”
Though baby Lucas was the first child, it did not take long for him to have company as Dr. Cox delivered a second baby only two hours later. The year is going to be busy for the NGMC Braselton’s maternity ward as it expects to deliver more than 600 babies in its first year.
