Mary Hall Freedom House

Mary Hall Freedom House was founded in 1996 and is named after founder Lucy Hall-Gainer’s mother, who died of alcoholism when Lucy was just six years old. The house provides treatment, recovery, housing and support services to women and women with children in an effort to break the cycle of addiction, poverty and homelessness. More than 3,500 women have received help at Mary Hall Freedom House, from medical and behavioral treatment to career and support services. What began as a small organization with $5,000 in initial funding has grown to a $4 million annual budget, which serves the needs of more than 300 women and their families each year.
