Ashley Bryan is a children’s book artist and illustrator who has enjoyed an amazing career and who also has a very interesting personal story. He got his start as a book illustrator at age 44 and is actually publishing his latest title in September at the age of 93! In his 50-year career, Bryan has published books in a dizzying array of styles that reflect a wide variety of influences, from African folktales to jazz and poetry. The High is the sole venue for this retrospective, which will introduce viewers to Bryan’s work through more than 70 original artworks from 20 of his books.
