Dr. Tequilla Hill, LMFT

CHARITY OF CHOICE: Hosea Feed the Hungry
Written by Amber Lanier Nagle

Dr. Tequilla HillTo her friends, colleagues and clients, licensed therapist Tequilla Hill is as bright and warm as a ray of golden sunshine. They refer to her as a “healer,” a “wellness warrior,” and even a “soldier of love”— nicknames Hill readily embraces.

Hill received a bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and master’s and doctorate degrees from Nova Southeastern University before moving to Sandy Springs. Today, she is the owner of Hill Psychotherapeutic Services, LLC, a private practice in Marietta providing an array of services such as therapeutic consults, life coaching and workshops.

“In the last 10 years, I’ve helped individuals, couples and families from various backgrounds,” Hill said. “I specialize in women and couples’ counseling dealing with issues such as self-esteem, depression, stress, anxiety, and creating work/life balance. In addition, I have always gravitated to advocating for the rights of women and children.”

Along with her growing practice, Hill has adopted a child care center where she performs pro bono counseling work for low-income children and families in crisis. She visits area shelters, where she conducts supportive counseling sessions for the homeless and downtrodden. She conducts a low-cost, monthly parenting class in Alpharetta, is an active crusader and volunteer for Hosea Feed the Hungry and Meals on Wheels, and an advocate for the American Heart Association. She’s even donated tissue to a tissue bank for scientific research.

“My goal in life is to enhance the quality of life of others,” said Hill. “I plan to continue to serve people through my counseling, workshops and through writing. I want to live life to the fullest and do as much in my field as I can before I die.”

Hill is wearing Ming Wang chevron print zip front jacket in jewel green/platinum/black with black “Demi” sheath dress; Shane Co. cultured Tahitian strand necklace and bracelet, 14k white gold cultured Tahitian pearl and diamond earrings, 14k white gold cultured Tahitian pearl and diamond ring, and sterling silver cultured Tahitian pearl bracelet.

She is definitely someone who molded me into the professional beast I am today. I will always always have much love, respect and admiration for this beautiful lady.
